Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026 · Last updated: August 1, 2026
Theatreview ("Theatreview," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by One More Byte LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Minnesota. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information in connection with our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information, including but not limited to:
Information you provide
- Account information — such as your email address, a password (stored only in hashed form), display name, and any profile details you choose to add.
- Authentication data — if you sign in using a third-party identity provider such as Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and limited profile information (such as your email or name) as permitted by that provider and your settings.
- User content — such as the performances you log, ratings, reviews, notes, cast details, lists, and the accounts you follow.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us, join a waitlist, or respond to surveys.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — such as app interactions, pages or screens viewed, device type, operating system, app version, general location inferred from IP address, and diagnostic or crash information. This is collected through our own systems and through third-party analytics and crash-reporting providers.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, we collect a device push token so we can deliver alerts about activity on your content, such as likes, comments, replies, and new followers. These notifications are optional: you can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings, and we delete the token when you disable notifications, sign out, or delete your account.
- Cookies and similar technologies — on our website, we and our providers may use cookies or similar technologies to operate and improve the Service.
We may add to or change the specific types of information we collect as the Service evolves; this Policy is intended to describe those categories broadly.
2. How We Use Information
We use information for purposes including, but not limited to:
- Providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the Service;
- Creating and managing your account and authenticating you;
- Storing and displaying your user content and social connections;
- Personalizing your experience and developing new features;
- Understanding usage, diagnosing problems, and preventing fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- Communicating with you about the Service, including updates and support; and
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers — with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting and infrastructure, backend and authentication, analytics, and crash reporting. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
- Other users — content you choose to make public or share (such as reviews, ratings, and profile details) may be visible to other users of the Service.
- Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Theatreview, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, such as encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may access and update most of your account information directly in the app. You may also request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may delete your account at any time. Account deletion is available within the app, and you may also contact us at the email below to make a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. International Users
Theatreview is based in the United States, and the Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
