Going to bed so this is word vomit while it’s fresh in my mind. Femi Hermes yippeeee!! Always stood out in the chorus so seeing him in a main role was delightful <3 Such an expressive performer who had the audience wrapped around his little finger after Road to Hell. good dynamics with the rest of the cast. Easily one of my fave takes on the part. Got my head blown clean off by Nathan Sykes’ vocals so that was a surprise and I even really, really enjoyed his characterisation which I wasn’t necessarily expecting with it being his theatre debut. Orpheus going from wide eyed and awkward and bashful to having this really powerful almost rock vocal with a bit of grit…. AND THEN snapping out of it into stooping and borderline sheepish again was somehow not incongruous at all. And he could consistently hit those high notes! Hope to see him again Danielle de Niese is good. Crack in the WAAAAAAALLLL is the hardest it’s hit in a while. I thought the more classical/opera-ish take on some of the material felt fresh. How Long was also a highlight. and i enjoyed watching her reactions - to Hades, and to Orpheus too actually, who seemed much more directly accusatory of her during If It’s True! Shaun Dooley was the weak point for me unfortunately. It doesn’t help that the previous Hades was one of the strongest the UK has had but I also think the take on Hades as more of a showman is something that has been done before in more interesting ways. Also a couple of line noticeable line flubs - nothing crazy, and it’s still obviously early days, so I hope he settles in. Saw Jasmine Eurydice last September so was nice to seem them again. Very tangible desperation in Chips and Flowers. Fun to see how certain elements of a performance change over time but the rat tail is forever 🫡 took my dad, who not only stayed awake but said it was “alright” so all in all a successful show Nathan Sykes as Orpheus ❤️ Jaz Triadi as Eurydice Femi Akinfolarin as Hermes ❤️ Danielle de Niese as Persephone Shaun Dooley as Hades Lindo Shinda as Fate Lauran Rae as Fate Melanie Bright as Fate Sebastian Lim-Seet as Worker Gabriela Benedetti as Worker Milly Willows as Worker Ollie Bingham as Worker Oisin Nolan Power as Worker

went into this knowing basically nothing but the time period it was set in and the themes and wow. first off, possibly the most fun ive ever had at a production (maybe second to beetlejuice after seeing that today but thats in a different review lol) and the more emotional Oh My God moments hit so hard. amazing. wish i was more of a drinker so the bars would hit harder x but cool all the same
The flying, special effects, and the SET! Holy crap this cast is phenomenal!!! I will definitely be coming back! (also after the show there was a talkback for Kids Night on Broadway and Shoshana, Dean, Jennifer, Miguel, Grace, and Colin all came out!! It was such a special night!)
